The Macedonian Power Exchange recorded a historic trading volume in August 2026, with a total of 199.698,9 MWh of electricity traded on the day-ahead market, representing an increase of 58.15% compared to August 2025, when 126.292,1 MWh were traded.
The total monthly trading volume achieved in August marks a new record for the Macedonian Power Exchange and is a significant indicator of increased market participant activity and growing confidence in the market-based mechanism for electricity trading.
The previous highest monthly trading volume was recorded in January 2026, when 153.028,7 MWh of electricity were traded on the day-ahead market.
The comparison highlights a substantial increase in both the overall trading volume and the average daily activity on the exchange, confirming that the day-ahead market continues to play an increasingly important role in electricity trading.
The record results achieved in August provide further confirmation of the development of the Macedonian organized electricity market and the growing participation of market entities in exchange-based trading.
