The meeting focused on key reform steps in the energy sector, as well as on the country’s progress in aligning with European energy policies.

The discussions focused on:

  • the country’s progress in reforms in the electricity sector,
  • strengthening energy stability and security of supply,
  • integration of the national market with the European energy market,
  • accelerating decarbonisation processes and the effects that CBAM has on efforts to increase the share of renewable energy sources

During the meeting, it was highlighted that MEMO is continuously working on the development of a stable and competitive electricity market, prepared for integration with the European market.

In this regard, preparations are being finalised for the launch of the Intraday Market, which is expected to become operational in May this year. At the same time, work is underway on MEMO’s full membership in AIB, as one of the steps towards the recognition of Guarantees of Origin in EU countries.

Since the establishment of the Registry in April 2025, more than 190 000 Guarantees of Origin have been issued for 20 companies using electricity produced from renewable sources.

The meeting also presented the implementation of ongoing energy projects in several areas, highlighting the country’s commitment to accelerating reform processes in the energy sector.
