A delegation led by the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, paid a working visit to Belgrade at the invitation of the Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović. The Macedonian delegation included representatives of the Ministry, Zoran Gjorgjievski, Managing Director of MEMO, as well as the management of Nomagas and MEPSO.

In addition to key infrastructure projects, the meetings addressed important issues related to the future of the energy sector and the integration of regional markets. The need for coordinated efforts to postpone the implementation of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) was emphasized, as in its current form it could have a serious negative impact on investments in renewable energy sources in North Macedonia, the normal functioning of the electricity exchange, and the process of integrating the Macedonian electricity market with the European Union market.

Furthermore, the importance of accelerating the integration of the electricity market into the European market was highlighted as a key step toward a stronger, more liquid, and more integrated regional energy market.

The visit concluded with a joint commitment to continue intensive institutional and technical cooperation, aimed at strengthening energy stability, security, and regional integration, in the interest of citizens and the economies of both countries and the wider region.
