The Macedonian power exchange continues to grow and strengthen. A warm welcome to GSA Energy, our 40th registered...

High-level representatives from across Europe gathered in Athens to mark the 20th anniversary of the Energy Community.
Founded in 2005 with the signing of the Treaty of Athens, at the same location where the gala event took place, the Energy Community has become a cornerstone of energy cooperation across South-Eastern and Eastern Europe. Over the past two decades, it has supported the Contracting Parties in aligning with EU legal standards, reforming national energy systems, and strengthening regional energy infrastructure – all with the goal of integration into the EU energy market.

Zoran Gjorgjievski, CEO of the National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO), attended the event and emphasized that MEMO remains an active and dedicated partner in this initiative, from regional integration to market coupling and beyond.
Gjorgjievski thanked the Energy Community Secretariat, the European Commission, the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Raw Materials of the Republic of North Macedonia, and all Contracting Parties and partners for their continuous cooperation and shared vision.

It was highlighted at the event that from Athens in 2005 to Athens in 2025, the Energy Community has proven that regional cooperation delivers stable, future-ready energy systems.
