According to data from the National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO), in March 2025, 533 GWh of electricity was sold to meet the country’s total electricity consumption, excluding losses, i.e., net consumption.
Transactions from domestic production amounted to 497 GWh. ESM contributed the largest share with 286 GWh (57.5%), followed by independent producers with 94 GWh (18.9%), virtual producers with 76 GWh (15.3%), and preferential producers using a preferential electricity tariff with 41 GWh (8.3%).
The share of domestic electricity production in net consumption is 93.3%.
