Registration of new participants

Conditions for participation

In order to start a procedure for the registration of a new participant in the EE market, the applicant should meet the following prerequisites:

Prerequisite 1

To possess a valid license for performing energy activities which is issued by the Regulatory Commission for Energy and Water Services (RKE). The license should be Permanent or Trial.

*If the applicant is a consumer, it is not necessary to have a license

Prerequisite 2

To have an EICode issued by the Electricity Transmission System Operator (OEPS).

The procedure for obtaining the EICode as well as all the necessary forms and documents are published on the website of MEPSO, which you can access at the following link.

Prerequisite 3

To have regulated its balance responsibility.

The ways in which balance responsibility can be regulated is explained in the section on balance responsibility

Required documents for registration

After meeting the above prerequisites, the applicant can submit a Request for Participation in the Electricity Market (BRUP) to MEMO. Below is the entire list of documents that should be submitted in addition to the request for participation (BRUP).
    1. Completed BRUP form (download BRUP form)
    2. A valid license for performing energy activities (not required for Consumers) or a Decision to register in the register of foreign traders/suppliers
    3. Confirmation of EICode issued by TSO
    4. Statement on the reliability of the request and the data provided (download an example of the Statement on the reliability of the request and the data provided), signed by the person authorized to represent the requester (Manager).
    5. A copy of the contract for regulated balance responsibility concluded with the TSO, or
    6. Completed and signed BPBO form for balance responsibility by another market participant who has previously regulated the balance responsibility, i.e. entered in the BOS register by OEPS, (download BPBO form)

Documents issued by the Central Registry of the RSM

    1. Current status issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia (not older than 30 days)
    2. Information on the economic and financial situation, issued by the Central Registry of the Republic of Macedonia (not older than 30 days)

Documents issued by the Public Revenue Administration

  1. Certificate from the Public Revenue Administration for paid taxes and other public duties prescribed by law, (not older than 30 days)
  2. Confirmation that no bankruptcy proceedings have been opened, (not older than 30 days)
  3. Confirmation that no liquidation procedure has been opened (not older than 30 days)
