The National Electricity Market Operator \u2013 MEMO LLC, Skopje, held a public consultation on the Rules for the operation of the organized electricity market, along with a workshop dedicated to the Intraday Market, which is scheduled to be launched on 6 May this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, the Energy Regulatory Commission, MEPSO, EVN, ESM, as well as companies, suppliers, traders, and electricity producers. The presence of all relevant stakeholders enabled a constructive discussion and exchange of views on key aspects of the organized market’s operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was opened by MEMO’s CEO, Zoran Gjorgjievski, who emphasized the institution\u2019s commitment to developing an efficient, transparent, and competitive electricity market aligned with European practices and standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe establishment of the Intraday Market is of key importance for increasing the flexibility and efficiency of electricity trading, especially in conditions of growing participation of renewable energy sources. This market allows participants to adjust their positions promptly, which directly contributes to reducing imbalances and optimizing costs,\u201d Gjorgjievski stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, he also noted that in January this year, an agreement was signed with the Slovenian energy exchange BSP Energy Exchange, selected as the nominated electricity market operator, to provide trading platform and clearing services for the day-ahead and intraday markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mitko Ognenoski, head of the Department for Renewable Energy Sources and Organized Electricity Market<\/strong> presented the Rules for the operation of the organized market, highlighting that they regulate the conditions for trading, clearing, and settlement, as well as operational rules, the code of conduct, and the participant registration process, to ensure a high level of transparency, security, and market efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the workshop, representatives of BSP, Matej Godec and Taj Kashtrun, presented the software solution that enables near real-time trading, as well as the practical aspects of the functioning of the Intraday Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
