{"id":259695,"date":"2025-07-14T09:56:39","date_gmt":"2025-07-14T08:56:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.memo.mk\/?p=259695"},"modified":"2025-07-14T12:18:48","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T11:18:48","slug":"first-half-of-2025-a-period-of-strong-progress-and-key-achievements-for-memo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.memo.mk\/?p=259695","title":{"rendered":"First Half of 2025: A Period of Strong Progress and Key Achievements for MEMO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.memo.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/36-1-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-259697\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.memo.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/36-1-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.memo.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/36-1-980x980.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.memo.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/36-1-480x480.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first six months of 2025, the National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO) achieved significant results in strengthening the organized electricity market and supporting the energy transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-MEMO was officially designated as the Nominated Electricity Market Operator (NEMO) for the next four years \u2014 a key step toward further integration of the Macedonian electricity market with the single European electricity market.<br>&#8211; Euro-denominated trading was successfully launched on the Macedonian power exchange, marking a major advancement in market alignment.<br>&#8211; Day-ahead market trading volumes increased by more than 40% compared to the first half of 2024, reflecting growing liquidity and market confidence.<br>&#8211; The Guarantees of Origin (GOs) Registry was established and is already operational, with 56. 620 GOs issued to date.<br>&#8211; MEMO took an active role at the expert level in working groups formed by the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources for the drafting of the new Energy Law and the draft Law on Renewable Energy Sources.<br>&#8211; High-level delegations \u2014 including representatives from the U.S. Embassy and the Energy Community Secretariat \u2014 were welcomed to discuss ongoing and future energy initiatives.<br>&#8211; The Macedonian electricity market was promoted at several key international events:<br>\u2003\ud83d\udd39 30th Athens Electricity Forum<br>\u2003\ud83d\udd39 ETCSEE 2025 in Austria<br>\u2003\ud83d\udd39 Energy Market Integration Forum \u2013 EMIF 2025 at the European Parliament in Brussels<br>\u2003\ud83d\udd39 Annual EUROPEX Conference \u2013 the Association of European Energy Exchanges<br>&#8211; Regular updates on activities and key electricity market indicators were shared with stakeholders.
